Year 9
Great Ocean Walk
Recently, our Year 9 students embarked on an unforgettable five-day trek along the stunning Great Ocean Walk. Designed to be both challenging and rewarding, this experience pushed students outside their comfort zones while immersing them in breathtaking coastal scenery.
Throughout the journey, students took full responsibility for planning and preparing their own meals, carrying their equipment, and navigating the diverse terrain. Their resilience, teamwork, and determination were truly impressive!
This trek also serves as the Adventurous Journey component of the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, marking a significant achievement for those involved.
A huge well done to all students, staff, and volunteers who made this experience possible - it was a week of personal growth, adventure, and unforgettable memories!
Connect Program
Students in the Year 9 Connect Program visited the Kinder on Wednesday 12th March and joined in with the Echidnas' activities. Activities such as singing praise to God, dancing and prayer time. Students had a wonderful time being involved and look forward to their next session over at the Kinder, where they will get to run the activities for the Echidna kids.

VCE Legal Studies Court Excursion
VCE Legal Studies students have been studying the Victorian criminal justice system as part of the Unit 3 course. In this area of study, students have been exploring the criminal justice system, the Victorian court hierarchy and the role of key legal personnel.
So far this term we’ve had guest speakers from Victoria Legal Aid and visited the Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court and the Warrnambool County Court.
Last week the class travelled to Melbourne where they spent time listening to court cases in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court, the County Court and the Supreme Court.
Sitting in court and listening to cases helps bring the criminal justice system to life for students. They heard a range of cases including driving offences, shoplifting and drug offences.
Below is a reflection on the experience from one of the students:
During Term 1, we had the opportunity to talk with legal aid professionals about their day-to-day lives and how they help people in the justice system. From there, we had an eye-opening experience to see what we have been studying in class at the Warrnambool Court. This benefited our studies as we could see the impact of what we were learning in our town. A day excursion extended this, and we journeyed to Melbourne and experienced the Supreme, County and Magistrates Courts. This is where we saw the justice system on a large scale. We thank Mr Rouse for orchestrating these events and opening our eyes to how the justice system shapes our community.

Not only did they learn essential cooking skills, but they also explored the importance of balancing flavors and textures to create a tasty, satisfying meal. The results? Mouthwatering Burgers that were a hit with everyone!
Year 8
This week, Year 8 students whipped up a delicious Beef Stir Fry, experimenting with new flavours and ingredients. A great effort from our young chefs!
