Principal's Update

Outdoor Sports Courts Official Opening

During our Open Evening this week, we were proud to officially open our new outdoor Sports Courts!

The event was attended by many special guests, and included speeches from our Principal, Board Member David Benfell, and Sam Holmes, Business Development Manager at Greenline - the company behind the courts' development.

Following this were exhibition matches from the U16 Warrnambool Seahawks Basketball team, as well as our own King's College Netball team, showcasing the potential of these courts.

We are grateful to all involved in the completion of this project and look forward to all the benefits that this new facility will bring our College for years to come.

Japanese Homestay Program

Last week we welcomed our Japanese Homestay Students from Shibuya High School in Tokyo, and it is wonderful to have them with us.

King’s College and Shibuya High School have had a strong relationship for the past 20 years. About 200 students from Shibuya come to Australia each year and are placed in ten Victorian Christian Schools.

King’s College has been the longest serving School in this program since it began. We are highly respected in this program for our caring nature and the way we engage with the students. A big thank you to our host families who enable this program to run.

Ride to School Day - Monday 31st March

We're excited to announce that Ride to School Day is just around the corner on Monday March 31st! We warmly invite all families to join us in ditching the car and embracing alternative ways to get to School. Whether you walk, ride a bike, scoot, or skate, every effort counts towards promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.

Even if you need to drive part of the way, consider parking a few blocks away and walking the rest of the journey. Every participant will automatically be entered into a prize draw, with three lucky winners to be selected!

Let's make March 31st a day to remember by reducing traffic congestion, promoting physical activity, and having fun together as a school community.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Our Learning Support Team

We have a wonderful team of Learning Support Staff at King's College. In the latest Newsletters we are sharing a little about some of them, to help build connections between them and our students, parents and the wider School community.

Sheryl Taylor

Hi, my name is Sheryl Taylor. I have lived in Warrnambool for the past six years. Prior to coming to King’s College I have taught in Kaniva, Melbourne, Ballarat, Japan and the Philippines. I have always worked with the younger children, so I am thoroughly enjoying my time in the Prep class as a Learning Assistant. There is always exciting learning happening at this age and it keeps me energised!
