What's Been Happening in Team 5/6!

Presented to you by the Admin Pillar

We have been incredibly busy over the last few weeks, so this fortnight we’ve prepared a quick summary of what’s been happening in Team 5/6!

Our main focus has been preparing for our Whole School Production, which was a huge success. After all the nerve wracking auditions, and the long, but fun, rehearsals, we finally got to present 4 terms of work on Monday, the 10th of November. It was so much fun, and it was wonderful to see everyone in their best smiles, performing. It’s extraordinary, the process of getting ready to perform in a production, the friendships that were formed, the fun that was experienced. Most of all it was amazing to watch all the cast become their roles, each rehearsal better than the last. We have no doubt that the 2025 production of The Amazing Adventures of Superstan will be remembered forever as an incredible experience. This has definitely been a highlight of the year for many of us, especially those who were part of the cast and crew. What an experience it was to perform and see all our hard work come to life on stage! Thank you to Miss Zoe for all her time and effort.

We’ve also begun our swimming lessons, kicking things off by swimming in the rain, with a side of hail, which was surprisingly fun! Between swimming and the production, it’s fair to say we’ve all been feeling a little tired, but it’s been worth it.

In the classroom, we’ve been working in small groups to design a product to sell at our end-of-year Bizarre Bazaar. As part of this project, we’ve conducted market research by creating and running surveys about our product ideas, then collecting and analysing the results to help make decisions.

This project has also challenged our mathematical thinking as we calculate what materials we’ll need, how much they’ll cost, how to price our products, and how many we need to sell before making a profit.

In Literacy, we’ve been exploring metaphors and evaluative language and learning how to use these effectively in our narratives. We’ve also continued studying Shaun Tan’s The Red Tree, analysing how it can be read as an emotive, free-verse poem.

We’re now looking forward to celebrating BPPS’s 70 Years Celebration this Sunday!
