Highlights from Heights Campus
This week has certainly been an exciting time for the youngest members of our community!
Our Foundation students recently enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Chesterfield Farm, bringing their classroom learning about farm animals to life. Over the past few weeks, students have been exploring the different types of animals that live on farms and how they help provide us with food and materials. The visit gave them an excellent opportunity to see, hear, and experience everything they had been learning about firsthand.
During their day on the farm, students took part in a range of fun and educational activities. They went on a tractor ride around the property, watched an impressive sheepdog demonstration, and even had the chance to milk a cow. One of the highlights of the day was feeding the farm animals—a definite favourite among the students. There were smiles all around as they met friendly goats, sheep, and chickens. It was a fantastic day filled with laughter, learning, and hands-on experiences that deepened the students’ understanding of life on the farm.
On Friday 7 November, we were also thrilled to welcome our 2026 Foundation students for their very first transition session, while their parents attended the Parent Information Session in the Community Hub. The new students settled in beautifully, working together and beginning to learn some of our Springvale Rise classroom routines. Our teachers were very impressed by how confident and curious the children were as they explored their new learning environment. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and learning throughout the morning. Meanwhile, the Parent Information Session provided families—especially those joining the school community for the first time—with valuable insights and practical tips to help prepare for next year.
A friendly reminder to families with children starting Foundation in 2026: please ensure your child is enrolled and attends the remaining transition sessions, held each Friday morning until 28 November. These sessions are a wonderful way for children to meet their new classmates and be part of the fun as they prepare for an exciting start to school!
