Colour Run – Walking Together in Faith

Earlier this year, our school engaged in the FIRE Carrier Program (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education), a significant initiative that deepens our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and strengthens our commitment to reconciliation. Through this program, student leaders helped guide our school community in learning, reflecting and acting with respect and understanding. Their involvement encouraged all students to walk gently, listen deeply and champion justice for First Nations peoples.

Today’s Colour Run built on this important work, offering a vibrant and joyful way to continue supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. All funds raised will be donated to the Opening the Doors Foundation, a First Nations-led organisation that provides essential educational support—including uniforms, books, technology and other learning needs—to empower Indigenous students across Victoria.Learn more here: https://www.openingthedoors.org.au/fundraise

As a Catholic school, today’s event reflects our commitment to living out the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, especially Human Dignity, Solidarity, and the Preferential Option for the Poor. Our participation is a practical expression of our faith, showing students that following Jesus means standing with others, promoting equity, and offering support where it is most needed.

This message is especially meaningful as we prepare to enter the Season of Advent, a time of hope, waiting and active love. Advent invites us to open our hearts, make room for Christ, and bring light to others. Today’s Colour Run encouraged our students to do just that—to act generously, build community and contribute to positive change in the lives of Indigenous children.

We sincerely thank all families for their generosity, enthusiasm and support. As we move into this sacred season, may today’s efforts remind us of our shared mission to walk together in faith, compassion and hope.
