What a big fortnight at TPS!

Just a reminder that we have an extra long weekend coming up. Monday, November 3rd is a Pupil Free Day for teachers to collect their assessment data in preparation for reports. Tuesday is the annual Melbourne Cup public holiday. We will welcome everyone back on Wednesday, November 5th.

School Review

Wednesday is also the first day of our school review. All government school undertake a review every 4 years, which analyses all aspects of the school, celebrates achievements and highlight possible areas for improvement. 

We have some external department staff who conduct the review and will be visiting classrooms, speaking to teachers, observing planning sessions and meeting our fabulous students.

At the end of the 4 day review, the school will receive a report which will draft the next 4 year strategic plan, which will be shared with our school community.

State Lawn Bowls

There are over 2000 schools in all of Victoria and our lawn bowls team is the 2nd best in the state.

Our team travelled to Sunbury on Wednesday, to compete against the 8 best sides across the state. In the preliminary rounds, our team were undefeated, progressing to the final against Cowes PS.

In an intense final, with scores locked at 6 all, Cowes managed to win the last 2 ends to come away 8-6 winners. 

Our students were again fantastic representatives of our school, playing the game in the right spirit and showing exceptional sportsmanship.

A big thanks goes to Mr Tinning, Barry Cuttriss, Geoff Tinning and Bernie Tinning for giving up so much time to help coach and guide these students.

Fete

With only a week to go until the Fete please keep up to date with all the required news via Compass and Facebook. We have a specially dedicated Fete page as part of the newsletter with all the important information.

We still require more helpers to assist the stalls, and with the set up and pack up on the day. If you can assist in any way, please speak to the office or Cherish Todd.

The proceeds of the Fete are going towards the purchase and installation of 2 brand new outdoor table tennis tables for our yard.

A huge thank you to our amazing committee who are working really hard to ensure the evening is a big success.
