Weekend Recreational Activities

A Trip to Aquatopia

An overcast day couldn’t keep us away on Sunday in weekend 2 as we headed out to Aquatopia, a fun mini water park in Western Sydney. The excitement on the bus was channeled into a Mamma Mia musical singalong and as we pulled up in the parking lot and the girls saw the slides looming up over the park fences their screaming certainly made a few heads turn!

They jumped straight in, heading for the medium slides but quickly upgrading to take on the giant racers and the very scary ‘20 meter Freefall’. A game of tips all around the water play tower and waiting in anticipation to be drenched by the giant tipping bucket all made for lots of laughter and fun, finished off by some old school hot dogs and slushies before heading back to the boarding house.

A sweet Sunday of Boarding Baking and fun!

Last weekend, the Kambala girls enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of baking, movies, and of course, Yo Chi!

The afternoon began with a friendly bake-off in the boarding house kitchen, with one team whipping up gooey double chocolate brownies and the other creating perfectly pink cupcakes. The girls showed off their culinary creativity and teamwork before gathering to enjoy their delicious treats — even sharing some of their baked goods with other girls in the house.

After the bake-off, everyone settled into the common room for a movie and popcorn session — the perfect way to unwind and enjoy each other’s company. The afternoon wrapped up with an outing to Double Bay, where the girls treated themselves to Yo Chi frozen yoghurt (complete with all the toppings!).

It was a wonderful afternoon of relaxed fun — a reminder that sometimes the sweetest memories are made together.

Events

Halloween

Over the weekend before Halloween we kicked off our decorating and the fun quickly turned into a full-on costume show! The girls had a blast trying on outfits, showing off their spooky styles, and playfully scaring each other between bursts of laughter. It was a night full of creativity, giggles, and Halloween spirit, a perfect way to start the spooky season!

At formal dinner on Monday in Week 3, the BAT girls (Boarding Advisory Team) held a special and spooky Halloween event. Girls got into the mood by dressing up and getting into the spirit with some outstanding costumes. Best Dressed prizes were awarded to Bella (Yr 7), Charlotte L and Isla (Yr 7) who were a combined duo and Abby (Yr 9). There was even a dance off on the night and it was great to see everyone having so much fun.
