Leadership Communication
My Lord and My God
As term 4 continues to move quickly we are finalising many of the 2026 school organisation details. We recently completed our process to internally advertise and appoint Positions of Leadership for 2026-27.
Congratulations to the following staff who are part of our leadership team for the next two years:
Religious Education Leader and Executive (coaching) team - Mrs Sarah Chappell
EAL/Auslan Leader - Ms Jodie Bawden
eLearn Leader - Mr Lance Rooney
English Leader - Mrs Bianca Wolverton
Mathematics Leader - Mr Ben Dixon
Instructional Coaches - Ms Jackie Bishop, Mrs Lyndal Mihic, Mrs Carmen Pocock, Mrs Nimanthi Perera, Mrs Emily Robertson, Mrs Kanchan Suri, Ms Shiromi Wijeratne, Mrs Bianca Wolverson
Learning Adjustment Team - Ms Nuwani Bandara, Ms Emily Stecca
Continuing her role as Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader - Mrs Emily Robertson
We thank all those leaders who have done amazing work during the 2024-45 cycle of leadership. It is the building of expertise among our staff by leading and then in turn allowing others to lead. The quality of the interviews and the knowledge and skills being demonstrated by staff was inspiring and a sure sign of the professional growth that has been undertaken by the wonderful teachers at St Thomas The Apostle PS over the past few years.
Class Placement for students
Students have been asked to indicate several peers that they would like to be in class with for 2026. This helps us to ensure that every child has at least one nominated person for their new class.
Parents are invited to email me directly if there are reasons for consideration for placement of their child. This would be based on your own child for emotional or academic reasons. We do not consider requests for particular teachers. This opportunity is offered to ensure parents have the opportunity to give voice to placement if there are particular reasons that may not be known to the school. Requests are considered as part of the process and cannot be guaranteed.
Emails should be sent to kdourley@cranbourneeast.catholic.edu.au and should contain your child's name, current class and the request for placement and the reason behind that request.
Fr Denis' farewell
Please see the RE & Parish news page to learn more about how you can share your memories and wishes to Fr Denis on his move to a new parish next year. Fr Denis has been an inspirational foundation Parish Priest for St Thomas The Apostle.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Kate Dou
School Reminders
As PAM/Simon Everywhere is still down, please continue letting us know if your child will be away from school. You can email us at admin@cranbourneeast.catholic.edu.au or call us on 5998 9293.
Daily Student Attendance Reminder
Please be reminded that if your child will be absent, it is important to notify the school promptly. If no communication is received, the school will follow up with an SMS, phone calls to parents/guardians and emergency contacts, and an email. A final text from the principal will advise that Victoria Police may be contacted if no response is received. Your timely communication ensures the safety and well-being of all students.
Early Pickups and Appointments
If your child needs to leave school early for an appointment, please notify the school in advance and sign your child out at the office. Please be mindful of the following times:
Students cannot be picked up during recess or lunch, as they will be in different locations around the school. You may arrange to collect your child before or after these times.
Additionally, students cannot be picked up from 3:00 PM, as they will be packing up for the day.
Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth and safe school day for all students.
