Principal's News

Where every child is known, challenged and supported to be lifelong learners.

Dear Parents and Friends,

I hope you all had the opportunity to relax and recharge over the long weekend. It was a shame the weather was a bit cold, wet and windy on Monday and Tuesday. It is certainly a well timed break to take a breath before the rush of Christmas comes.

Our staff had a Professional Development Day on Friday where we explored the MACS Vision for Engagement, which links in with the MACS Vision for Instruction. The two vision documents  work hand in hand to make sure all students get the best possible academic and wellbeing outcomes.

MACS Flourishing Learners 2030 have two system goals:

Vision for Instruction

Goal 1 - Excellence

All MACS schools deliver a knowledge-rich, evidence-based teaching and learning program.

We believe in teaching excellence, where all teachers are empowered to implement evidence-based practices and deliver the knowledge that students need to become intellectual and moral citizens of the world.

Vision for Engagement

Goal 2 - Equity

Every student, regardless of background, achieves literacy and numeracy proficiency.

Our vision is that every student is inspired and enabled to flourish and enrich the world. The dignity and worth of each student is valued, which places the individual student at the heart of what MACS does. Our educators are dedicated to providing all students with fundamental literacy and numeracy skills, ensuring their active engagement in society while fostering lifelong learning.

Our Foundation 2026 students had their second school experience this morning. They all came in very excited and went off to the Foundation room ready for hard school work! They are a very settled group and happily chat and help each other.

Classes for 2026

Next week the children will nominate 5 friends who they work well with in class. The children get to choose these friends from the children in the same level. This is done using computers with the children’s photos next to their names. Children will get at least 1 name from their list.

School Uniform

I know it is a busy time of the year, however, we still need to be wearing our correct uniform. I am seeing a lot of children wearing runners at the moment. Please make sure your children are wearing the correct shoes for the remainder of the year.

Please note unless medically required Crocs are not the go to shoes to wear if your school shoes or runners are not available. A note is required for any student out of uniform.

Isabella and Marcus Fundraising event - Saturday 22 November from 11am.

A dear friend of mine runs an annual fundraiser to raise money for Child Brain Cancer Research. Daniela has been hosting this event for 13 years. Ex-parents of St Brigid’s have also been amazing supporters of this event. They are conducting this fundraiser at our school this year, so if you have a spare half an hour please feel free to come in and have a look at the amazing auction pieces they have to offer.

Coin Trail - TOMORROW

Tomorrow we have our coin trail to raise money for the non for profit organistion - COTS.

COTS stands for Christmas on the Streets and Roseanne Rofaell is the founder. COTS is a company for those in need. They hand out food, water and hygienic items to the homeless. COTS is an amazing organization and we are glad to be donating to them. So don't forget to bring your coins in TOMORROW to support COTS.

E-Safety Commission

It has come to my attention that the Guardian Newspaper has written an article regarding Roblox citing the dangers that can take place in the game.  I encourage parents to read the Guardian article.  I also suggest you go to the E-Safety Commission website to find out more about how children can be influenced by strangers 'playing' Roblox.  Whilst Roblox is not banned the E-Safety Commission are pushing for it to be banned.
