Grade 4/5 Big Buddy Police Visit

Today we saw our big buddies that we have been writing letters to. We have been very excited to meet them.

Firstly we did a get to know you bingo game where we had to find people to match the description. Then we did an activity where we had to make a paper airplane and write something we like and something we dislike. After we did that we threw the planes around the room and picked up the one closest to us and we would ask people if that was their airplane.

The next thing we did was give our big buddies a tour around the school and we went to the oval where we got to do a laser race. The police normally use the laser to see how fast cars go and if the person is speeding but we used it to see how fast we can run. The students got between 16 to 19km/h but Mr. Sharp got 21!

After that we got in the police van and we even went into the place where the bad guys go. The maximum  was six but we actually fit 12 of us in there. Some of us even got to turn on the sirens and everybody sang “Woop, woop! It is the sound of the police”.

Finally we went inside and talked to our big buddies about their jobs and we took pictures. It was really fun meeting our big buddies and we are looking forward to going to visit them at the police station next!
