Gratitude

Gratitude

Each day I am inspired by the kindness and compassion of children. The way that they look after one another, stand up for their friends, volunteer to be of service to someone else. I am moved by a simple, "Good morning," a "How are you?" or a smile. I am encouraged by their willingness to learn - not just literacy or mathematics  - but learning about themselves: who they are, what their strengths are, who they aspire to be.

I am grateful that I am privileged to be part of this awesome school community.

In our Social and Emotional lessons, students have been participating in the The Resilience Project - focusing on GEMS:  Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness & Emotional Literacy.  Each fortnight our senior students have been leading additional activities in these areas throughout the school.  Over the past few weeks we have been focusing on GRATITUDE.  Hopefully your child handed you a letter, a picture or a card a couple of weeks ago in which they shared why they are grateful to you - their family.

Our teachers also put pen to paper to deliver some words of GRATITUDE to you all about why they enjoy being the teacher of your children. I think their words certainly demonstrate the practice of being thankful and focusing on one of the most rewarding things in our life - being teachers......that is being the teachers of your amazing children!

I hope you enjoy reading what the teachers have to say.
