Book Week Activities

On Monday, students dressed up as a character from a chosen book. It was wonderful to see so many original and creative costumes! Congratulations to our Junior school winner, Joseph (The Astronaut) and our Senior school winner, Giselle (Caterpillar that transformed into a Butterfly).
A big thank you to the parents who came into classrooms to read stories in their home language to the children who thoroughly enjoyed listening to them!
Tuesday was a fun-filled day where students rotated around different classrooms in family groups to listen to some of the shortlisted books and participate in a variety of activities including creating beautiful art works and baking.
On Tuesday afternoon, our junior students had a visit from Alysha from Doveton Library. Alysha spoke to the students about how to become a member of the library and the types of things that students could borrow. She also read some stories and sang some songs with the children.
Please see Mrs Crist if you would like to sign up your child to become a Connected Libraries member.
Our annual Teachers vs. Students Spelling Bee is an event we all look forward to. This year it was our spectacular students who took the title of Spelling Bee Champions! Congratulations to Jane, Ella L and Ella P who made up our student team and to Ms Sam, Mrs Drury and Mr Tom who made up the teacher team.
Congratulations to our winners of the ‘Guess How Many Pages in the Book’ competition: Himansha, who won a nominated picture storybook and Kobee, who won a nominated book for younger readers.
Many thanks to all parents for their support with costumes and participation in our events. A special thank you too, to all staff members for their support and planning of events, and of course to our wonderful students for their enthusiasm.
We can’t wait for Book Week 2025!
