Maths Talent Quest

The Maths Talent Quest (MTQ) ran again this year at our school with a large number of students involved. The Maths Talent Quest is an excellent opportunity for students to complete a project where they are exploring Maths in real world situations. 

Students had the opportunity to participate and select their own investigation topic based on their personal learning interests and apply mathematics in context. 

We have had 53 students participate and producing entries this year. 

We submitted 1 class, 5 group and 2 individual entries into the Maths Association of Victoria contest. We had students from all year levels from Year 1-Year 5 participate.

The results are as follows:

Year 1 - Category: Class    Title: What’s for Lunch?   

RESULTS: HD - High Distinction.  - Class – 1CA

Year 2 - Category: Group    Title: Making Cake   

RESULTS:   E - Encouragement. - Allie Wu, Grace Xu, Claire Chen

Year 3 - Category: Group   Title: Distance

Year 4 - Category: Group   Title: Cupcakes and Fairy Bread    

RESULTS: E - Encouragement. - Sophie Wang, Chloe Wang

Year 5 - Category: Group    Title: Guess How Many Lollies in the Jar

Year 5 - Category: IndividualTitle: Goldfish Aquarium

All other entries received a participation award. 

We would like to congratulate all students who completed a project and certificates are to be awarded to participating students at assembly during Term 4.
