SCHOLARSHIP TOPS HAVE ARRIVED

It took a little bit longer than we would have liked, but the unique T-shirts for each of the scholarship teams were delivered last week.  You might remember that the artwork on these shirts was designed by the Art Scholarship Team with the guidance of Liz Morgan.  They did a great job and the shirts look amazing.  Scholarship students are welcome to wear these special shirts on the days that they have scholarship sessions.  Pictured above is one of the Master Chef scholarship groups proudly modelling their shirts.

CONCERT UPDATE

All of the acts are looking great and no doubt there will be lots of fine tuning going on this week.  Those who attended last week’s P-2 assembly saw a run through of the finale song, which was very cute.

A big thank you to the many parents who have jumped in and been helping out with preparing acts and making props and costumes.

Speaking of costumes, we are now in a really good routine of keeping and re-using costumes, so what is made this year is likely to be used many times over in years to come.

Thanks to everyone too for supporting your children and the school by purchasing tickets.  The Friday night performance will sell out in the next couple of days, so act quickly if this is your preference.  Don’t forget that the Thursday Matinee is a great option for grandparents and extended family members.  It can also be a great option for parents attending with small children.

Back Stage Helpers – Teachers will be organising a backstage parent helper or two (if needed). Only those designated parent helpers will be allowed backstage and each of those will require a Working With Children Check.  This is designed to keep your children safe and is part of our commitment to providing a ‘Child Safe’ environment for your children.  Our designated helpers will be given a ‘Parent Helper’ sticker for easy identification.

Please rest assured that we are thoroughly planned for the concert in terms of keeping children safe, which includes:

  • Supervision of corridors and toilets.
  • A process for collecting students being dropped off to evening performances.
  • Managing medical conditions and the provision of first aid.

Please Note:  The messages regarding parents going backstage does not stop parents collecting students early if that is their wish.  Simply go to the door of the relevant holding room and ask to speak to your child’s teacher.  Making arrangements prior to the concert is a great idea.

Seeking Parent Helpers – With all concerts, we need parent help with management jobs for the evening concerts (directing traffic, ushering, selling concert recording and class photos).  Obviously, this is important as we want to concentrate staff time on looking after the kids.  If you can help out with any of these roles, please give the office team a call.

Tour of the Concert Facility – If you have an anxious child who would be comforted by a tour of the concert facility, you are welcome to join us for a tour of the concert venue this afternoon at 4:00pm.  We’ll be meeting in the foyer of Founders Hall.

Student Absence – If your child will be absent for one or more of the concert performances, it’s good for your child’s teacher to know, so please get in touch if this the case for you.

Parent Information Booklet - If you haven’t already, please make sure you have a read of the concert information booklet, as that will help put you in the picture and save confusion.

Parent Surveys

Thanks to those that have already completed this survey.  For those that haven’t, you have until Friday August 30.  We’d like to get lots of survey responses, so please consider taking 20 minutes to help us out with this.

2025 Prep Enrolments

A reminder if you have a child to enrol in prep for 2025, please access an enrolment form from the website or from the office, fill it out and send it in ASAP.  Once your child is enrolled, you’ll be on the mail out list for transition updates, which includes information about our Preschooler Program and Orientation Day.  Please pass this message on to anyone else who may be in the same situation.  Please feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.
