Sports Update
Athletics Carnival
On Friday, August 23rd, 18 students from Years 4-6 represented Magill School at the SAPSASA Athletics Carnival held at Bridgestone Stadium, Salisbury. Competing in the Torrens River division, our students went up against several schools from the area.
Our athletes participated in various events, including the 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, 4x100m relay, shot put, discus, high jump, and long jump. Their hard work and dedication were evident, with many students securing first-place finishes in their events, automatically qualifying them for the SAPSASA State Championships in Week 9 of this term.
Despite having a relatively small team, the camaraderie among the students was inspiring. They cheered each other on with genuine enthusiasm, celebrating not just their successes, but those of their teammates as well. This strong sense of community highlighted the close-knit spirit of our Magill PS team.
Magill School proudly finished 4th in the Torrens River division—a remarkable achievement considering the size of our team.
We were thrilled to see so many parents and families supporting our students. A special thank you goes to the parent volunteers who assisted with various events throughout the day. Your help is invaluable in ensuring that days like these run smoothly.

AFL Great Final Game
The year 3/4 boys team have just finished their AFL season with a great final game. The competition had a really high skill level and for many of our boys, it was their first ever competitive game of AFL.
The team showed huge improvement across the season. They never gave up, worked hard as a team, and encouraged each other to do their best. Many of them are looking forward to more Magill AFL next year!
