This Wednesday, Olivia & Elizabeth from Year 6, represented Holy Family in the North Shore Cluster Public Speaking Competition at Sacred Heart, Pymble.

It was a tough competition, but they both had so much fun talking with the other competitors and trying their best. They did their prepared speeches, and those went very well. Elizabeth’s prepared speech topic was ‘At the End of the Rainbow’ and Olivia’s prepared speech topic was ‘Living a Simple, Fulfilling Life.’

After a short break for morning tea, the girls went into another room to work on their impromptus. They only got 10 minutes to prepare! Elizabeth’s impromptu topic was ‘A Moment in Time’, and Olivia’s impromptu topic was ‘If I had a Superpower’.

Everyone did a great job, and the girls were able to learn from the other students too. Though they didn’t get to the next level, being able to get into Cluster in the first place was such a privilege for them!

They would very much like to thank the teachers who organised this wonderful event, and to Sacred Heart for hosting. Thank you also to the people who very kindly gave up their time to watch them - your support is greatly appreciated.  Cluster Public Speaking was an experience they will never forget!
