Fortnightly Update
It has been another busy fortnight at ACPS filled with special events and activities.
We held our annual Father's Day celebrations which commenced with the Father's Day Stall. Our students absolutely love going shopping on their own at our special gift shop where they can take the reigns and select that perfect gift. Splat Man, Whoopee cushions and Coffee Mugs were just a few of the gifts on offer, providing our students with the opportunity to select special gifts for their Dads, Grandfathers, and significant male figures in their lives. My favourite moment of the stall was when one of our Grade 1 students looked at me beaming and said " I can just buy so much stuff because every time I hand over my money they give money back to me". A huge thank you to Jaime Noye, who has once again done a fantastic job overseeing the stall with the support of parent volunteers. Your dedication and hard work ensure that this tradition continues to bring joy to our students and their families.
The Father's Day Breakfast culminated our celebrations with what was a a lovely morning filled with warmth and community spirit. It was great to see the children playing together while parents caught up and enjoyed a croissant or bacon and egg roll with their kids. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come along and make the morning so special. A huge thank you also goes out to our group of mothers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, setting up and cooking to make the breakfast such a success.
Throughout August, our students enthusiastically participated in the "100 Skips per Day" challenge as part of our commitment to raising awareness and funds for Jeans for Genes. The positive energy that music and physical activity have brought to our mornings has been fantastic, and it’s something we hope to continue as much as we can. Following our ACPS Jeans for Genes Day held this week, we will donate all funds raised to jeans for Genes. A special thank you to Chelsea Black, who led this initiative as part of her role overseeing the Junior School Council.
Our Grade 5 and 6 students headed out on camp last week for what was a brilliant three days at Camp Marysville. The camp provided them with opportunities for personal growth, team building, and learning in a natural setting. I cannot speak more highly of how well our students conducted themselves and also pushed themselves out of their comfort zone. A big thanks to Mr Smith, Mrs Sharland, Miss Black and Mrs Clarke who have worked tirelessly to make the camp the huge success that it was.
We also had our young athletes representing ACPS at District Athletics. Congratulations to all participants on their achievements, and a big thank you to our staff and parents who were able to attend and cheer them on. Good luck to those who will be competing at Division Athletics early next Term.
Rounding out the fortnight we held our Silent Disco on Tuesday night. The event was a huge hit with students and the school came alive with energy and neon colour as students danced and grooved to their favourite tunes with wireless headphones, making for a fun and unique experience. Events like this not only bring joy but also help strengthen friendships and build a sense of community. Thank you to everyone who helped organise and support this event! Thank you to Kim and the local team at 'Fun Frequencies' who supported us on the night and facilitated the event.
Thank you for your continued support in making ACPS a vibrant and nurturing environment for our students.
