Ellyse Gamble AFLW Visit

On Friday, August 16th the Year 9/10 cohort had the amazing opportunity to listen to a guest speaker from the Essendon Bombers AFLW Football Club, Ellyse Gamble.

She shared an inspiring and motivational insight to her football career, and spoke about her timeline to football, setbacks, injuries and opportunities along the way. The 9/10s learnt many valuable lessons regarding determination and resilience, and how to persevere to pursue your dreams. 

Ellyse spoke about her challenges with the expectations of a woman playing in a male dominated sport, and how in order to succeed, failure and setbacks are inevitable along the way. This speech was beneficial to show us the importance of persisting and taking every opportunity you are offered. Overall, Ellyse Gamble provided an uplifting and captivating glimpse into both her football career and her personal journey outside of football.
