Classrooms in the Spotlight

Big Day Out at Point Peron
The Year 6 students recently enjoyed an exciting Big Day Out at Point Peron. It was a fantastic day filled with fun activities, teamwork, and time at the beach.
During the excursion, students took part in a range of beach games where they worked together and had lots of fun in the sun. One of the highlights of the day was building rafts in teams. After designing and constructing their rafts, the students tested them in the water to see if they would float. This activity brought plenty of laughter and excitement as everyone cheered on their teams.
Students also had the opportunity to enjoy a free swim, making the most of the beautiful beach and spending time with their friends. The day also helped students build stronger relationships with their peers and teachers while working together and supporting each other throughout the activities.
The students loved their day out and had a wonderful experience. They are already looking forward to the next Big Day Out later in the year.
Primary Dream and Lead Conference
Our Year 5 and 6 student leaders recently had the exciting opportunity to attend the Primary Dream and Lead Conference, where they joined students from other schools to develop their leadership skills and explore what it means to be a positive role model within their school community.
The student leaders started their day by catching the bus and train up to the Convention Centre in Perth CBD. The Transperth staff were very helpful assisting us all the way and making sure that we got the right platform and caught the correct train!
Throughout the day, the students participated in a range of interactive workshops and group activities focused on teamwork, communication, responsibility, and confidence. They were encouraged to think about the qualities of effective leaders and how they can make a meaningful contribution to their school.
A highlight of the conference was the chance for students to collaborate with peers from different schools, share ideas, and learn new strategies for leading initiatives and supporting others. The sessions also explored how leaders can show respect, demonstrate resilience, and create a positive and inclusive environment for everyone.
Our students represented the school with pride, showing enthusiasm, maturity, and a strong willingness to learn. They returned with many great ideas and are looking forward to putting their leadership skills into action throughout the year.
We are very proud of our student leaders and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will continue to make in our school community.
Hands On Learning
This term, we were excited to welcome back our Hands On Learning program in partnership with 54 Reasons. The program runs every Wednesday and has started strongly, with 12 enthusiastic students from Years 5 and 6 taking part.
Led by Mr Brotherson and Mr Gomes, students have been developing a wide range of practical skills through hands-on tasks. These have included measuring, sawing, hammering, and drilling, as well as general garden work. It’s been fantastic to see students build confidence and teamwork while learning these valuable life skills.
Students have already completed several projects, including creating personalised name badges, earning tool badges, and building a boot cleaner. In the garden, they have been busy planting and working on shade cover construction, helping to improve and care for our school environment.
A highlight of the program has been the delicious food prepared by students for recess and lunch. From brownies and spaghetti bolognese to burgers, butter chicken, and sandwiches, students have enjoyed both cooking and sharing meals together.
An important part of the program is the focus on individual growth. Each student is working towards personalised focus plans set by the teachers, targeting areas such as teamwork, communication, resilience, and task completion. These goals help guide each session, ensuring every student is supported and challenged at their own level, while celebrating progress along the way.
Hands On Learning continues to be a wonderful opportunity for students to connect, contribute, and create a space that feels like their own—a place where everyone belongs and people they belong to.
Easter Hat Parade
What a lovely celebration our Easter Hat Parade was! We absolutely love seeing all the creative designs, and the excitement as students paraded along to the Easter playlist was wonderful to watch. Take a look at these amazing creations!!!
Harmony Day
Last Tuesday we celebrated Harmony Day. A special day where we recognise and value the many cultures, languages and traditions that make our school community so unique. It's a reminder that everyone belongs, and that by learning from one another we grow kinder, more understanding and more connected.
