End Of Term 1:

Junior School Report

As we come to the end of a busy and rewarding term, it is a great opportunity to reflect on the many achievements, experiences, and moments of growth across our Year 7 and 8 students. It has been a term defined by strong student voice, increasing independence, and a real sense of belonging within our Junior School.

One of the highlights has been the overwhelming interest in student leadership, particularly with our Year 7 Class Captain applications. We had an exceptionally high number of applicants, making the selection process both challenging and exciting. This level of enthusiasm speaks to the confidence and leadership potential already developing in our students. We are proud to announce our 2026 Year 7 Class Captains:

7A – Isla Casto and Krishiv Shah,

7B – Cyrus Tuaine and Natasha Babb,

7C – Eyal Srilatha and Bhavishya Golla ,

7D – Emma Christensen and Alexia Mandile,

7E – Andrey George and Maya Fotaki,

7F – Eva Mahajan and Oliver Monteriso,

7G – Ivy Gregory and Anastasious Michalidis, and

7H – Max Morel and Tahlia Duong.

These students were formally announced and presented with their badges at our last assembly of the term. We also look forward to announcing our Year 7  Student Representative Council (SRC) members shortly, with nominations and votes currently being finalised.

Our Year 7 Camp was another standout experience this term. Camps are such an important part of the transition into secondary school, and it was fantastic to see students building new friendships, demonstrating resilience, and embracing challenges outside of their comfort zones. The confidence and connections developed during camp have already had a positive impact back at school.

Across both year levels, students have proudly represented the college in Junior Interschool Sport. The teamwork, effort, and sportsmanship on display have been outstanding, and it has been pleasing to see so many students actively involved. Events like our Swimming Carnival also brought our community together, with strong participation, house spirit, and plenty of encouragement from peers.

A particularly exciting development this term has been the way our Year 8 student leaders have stepped into leadership through the design and delivery of assemblies. This has been a powerful demonstration of student voice, agency, and ownership in action. Students have planned, organised, and confidently presented to their peers, showing maturity and pride in contributing to the school community. It has been inspiring to watch them take on these responsibilities and set the tone for future leadership opportunities.

To finish the term, our Junior School will come together for a Walkathon on the final day to raise funds for Monash Children’s Hospital. This is a meaningful way for students to contribute to a cause beyond themselves, while also strengthening our sense of community and shared purpose.

Overall, it has been a big and successful term for our Year 7 and 8 students. From camps and sport to leadership and community initiatives, students have embraced every opportunity to get involved, challenge themselves, and grow. We thank our students for their enthusiasm, our staff for their ongoing dedication, and our families for their continued support. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable break and look forward to another fantastic term ahead.

Middle School Report

Congratulations to all our Year 9 and 10 students on a fantastic start to the year. It has been pleasing to see the way many of you have settled into your classes, built positive relationships, and engaged in your learning.

As we move into Term 2, it is important to maintain strong attendance habits. Being at school every day, arriving on time to each class, and being prepared to learn are key factors in achieving success.

We also encourage all students to continue developing positive work habits. Establishing consistent study routines at home will be essential as you begin preparing for your exams at the end of Term 2. Small, regular study sessions can make a significant difference over time.

Finally, we encourage you to demonstrate leadership across the school and within the wider community. By showing respect, responsibility, and a commitment to your learning, you contribute to a positive and supportive school environment for everyone.

Well done again on a strong Term 1—we look forward to seeing your continued growth next term.

Attendance Matters: Every Day Counts

As we reach the end of Term 1, our Directors of Students would like to take this opportunity to thank our students, families and staff for a positive and productive start to the year. It’s been a true celebration of student growth, achievement and community engagement.

In 2026, a key focus for our college continues to be student attendance, as it is one of the strongest indicators of student success, wellbeing and engagement.

Regular school attendance is essential for students to:

· Build strong relationships with peers and teachers

· Develop consistent learning routines

· Achieve academic success

· Maintain a sense of belonging within our school community

Even small amounts of missed school can have a significant impact over time.

As we look forward to Term 2, it is a timely remind that students should attend school every day throughout the term. Family holidays should be planned during school holiday periods, and medical appointments should be arranged outside of school hours wherever possible. If your child is absent, medical certificates and attendance notes must be uploaded via the Compass Parent Portal.

We would like to recognise and congratulate the following students who achieved above 100% attendance for Term 1. This is an outstanding achievement and reflects strong commitment and responsibility towards their learning.

Senior School Report

Senior School Report

Term 1 has been a positive and productive start to the year across our Senior School. It has been pleasing to see students settling into their classes, establishing routines, and engaging with their learning. Our Year 12 students have approached their final year with a growing sense of purpose, and we look forward to continuing to support them as the year progresses.

One of the highlights of the term was our Year 12 Jacket Ceremony. This special event is always a significant milestone, marking the transition into students’ final year of schooling. It was fantastic to see our Year 12 students proudly receive their jackets from our Year 7 students, symbolising leadership, connection and the journey through the college. The atmosphere was warm and celebratory, and it was a great moment for our school community.

Looking ahead to Term 2, we have a number of important events coming up.

We will be hosting our VCE and VCE VM Information Evening on Wednesday 29th April in the theatre from 6:15pm–7:15pm. This evening is designed for our current Year 10 students and their families as they begin planning their senior school pathways. The session will provide an overview of both VCE and VCE VM, outline expectations, and support students to make informed decisions about their future studies. We strongly encourage all Year 10 families to attend.

Another key date for students completing a Unit 3 & 4 subject is the General Achievement Test (GAT), which will take place on Tuesday 16th June.

The GAT is a compulsory assessment set by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority for all students undertaking Unit 3 & 4 studies. It assesses general knowledge and skills in areas such as written communication, mathematics, science and technology, and humanities, arts and social sciences. While the GAT does not directly count towards a student’s study score, it plays an important role in ensuring the accuracy and fairness of VCE results, including supporting the calculation of derived examination scores if required.

Further information about the GAT will be shared with all senior students and families in Term 2.

As we head into the term break, it is important that students take the opportunity to rest and reset. Maintaining wellbeing is essential for sustained academic success, and this time provides a valuable chance to recharge, spend time with family and friends, and return to Term 2 feeling refreshed and ready to engage. We wish all students and families a safe and enjoyable break.
