Year 5/6

As we reach the end of the second term. The Year 5/6 team would like to thank all of our students and their families for a fantastic first semester. We have experienced some amazing things in the first half of the year and we are looking forward to an action packed end of the year.
We would also like to reflect on and thank our families for their support this term with our Production and Market Day for supplying and assisting your children with resources needed for this.
Literacy
We have been feverishly reading to finish our class novel 'Nevermoor - The Trials of Morrigan Crow'. Students have engaged meaningfully over the term with the fantasy novel and have demonstrated their knowledge and comprehension over the course of the term. Students will be given the opportunity to write some text responses over the last week to summarise and infer greater meaning of the mentor text.
Numeracy
In Maths over the last few weeks we have finalised our number unit on Multiplication and Division and began a unit on Shape. During this topic, students investigated 3-dimensional objects and their properties and were able to distinguish different nets and cross sections of these shapes.
Humanities
Students have continued to prepare for next week's Market Day as part of our Humanities Unit on Economics and Business. Market Day will be held on Thursday 3rd of July and is one of the marquee days on the senior school calendar that our students look forward to each year.
