Year 1/2 Learning Community News

It’s been a busy and fun few weeks in 1/2C.

In Inquiry, we’ve been learning about different cultures. The kids have been making postcards to convince people to visit the countries they’ve researched, using facts about food, animals, landmarks and more. We also learned about Indigenous cultures and had a great time making damper using ingredients like lemon myrtle and saltbush.

In Maths, we have continued working on addition and subtraction. We’ve looked at fact families, used number lines and MAB blocks, and solved problems with and without regrouping.

In Literacy, we revisited imaginative texts and wrote a story about a tiger escaping in the city. We included a setting, characters, a problem and a solution. We also worked on making our writing more detailed by adding adjectives.
