Week 7 Japanese News

Foundation

Foundation students have been continuing their learning of colour names in Japanese. This week, they took part in a fun "Jellybean Challenge"! Students estimated how many jellybeans of each colour were in a packet, then opened it to count and record their results. They created a colourful graph and practised using the sentence "I like (colour)" to express which jellybean they would like to eat.

Grade 1/2

Grade One and Two students have been learning the names of different weather conditions in Japanese. They've also explored how to express their feelings in various types of weather, using new vocabulary and sentence structures.

Grade 3/4

Grade Three and Four students are preparing to write letters to our sister school in Japan. To build their background knowledge, they’ve been learning about life in Japanese elementary schools and comparing it to their own experiences in Australian schools. It’s been a great opportunity to explore cultural similarities and differences.

Grade 5/6

Grade Five and Six students have been working on a unit about spare time activities. This week, they will be presenting their projects titled "My Spare Time Activities", where they showcase what they've learned about their spare time activities in Japanese.
