Year 4 News

Dear Families,

We are already halfway through Term 2, and our Grade 4 students are well into exploring our new learning topics for the term.

Last week, all the Grade 4 classes participated in Simultaneous Storytime, where we enjoyed listening to The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel.

In English, we are continuing our author study on Gregg Dreise. Students have been reading and analysing a variety of his books, learning to infer meaning and identify themes. They have now begun creating their own stories inspired by Gregg Dreise’s unique writing style.

In Mathematics, we have been building on our understanding of multiplication strategies and have started to explore measurement, fractions, and place value.

In Wellbeing, our focus has been on Visible Wellbeing and the importance of collaboration.

Meanwhile, in Investigations, we are learning about the first contact between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and British settlers. The students are especially excited about our upcoming excursion, where we will explore First Nations history and culture in greater depth.

Thank you for your continued support,
