RecycleSmart - Old Uniforms

Giving Old Uniforms a Second Life
Each term, families generously donate second-hand BNPS uniforms, which are sorted and made available for resale at low cost via our uniform stall. It’s a great way to save money, support each other, and reduce waste.
But not every piece of clothing can be worn again - some polos have been through one too many school days, bomber jackets are missing their snap closure, trackies knees are worn-out, and items become too faded or stained to pass on. Where we can, we repair small issues like missing buttons or loose seams, but when items are truly past their prime, we don’t just bin them.
Instead, we collect them for textile recycling - and last week, we sent off three full 120-litre bins of these well-worn uniforms to RecycleSmart, a business that gives old textiles a new lease on life. That one pick-up alone diverted 39kg of textiles from landfill and saved an estimated 86kg of CO₂ emissions.
This is our second collection since 2022, and we’re proud to be helping our school community be a little greener.

Thanks to all the families who donate, and to everyone who shops second-hand - it all adds up!
