Ms Brea Terris

Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe we are at the halfway mark of Term 2.
The year is going by so quickly, while it still only seems like yesterday, we were welcoming students back to school for the 2025 school year.
As we enter the cooler months, please ensure students have their school jumper on and not a casual jumper. We have spare jumpers at the office if students need them.
Reconciliation Week
This week is National Reconciliation Week.
The theme for Reconciliation Week is Bridging Now to Next, this reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future.
At SHNPS, students are engaging in a range of activities to acknowledge both National Reconciliation Week and National Sorry Day which took place on Monday 26th May.
National Reconciliation Week is a time for all of us at SHNPS to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Cross Country
Congratulations to Jimmie and Chelsea who participated at the Regional Cross Country event at St Arnaud this week. You both did an amazing job and we are proud of your efforts!
Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS)
The AtoSS is a voluntary student survey offered by the Department of Education every year to help schools and the department understand students' experiences of school. We will ask your child about their thoughts and feelings about their school, their learning, relationships with other students, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing.
Our Year 4, 5 and 6 students will be invited to participate in the AtoSS between 2nd June and 13th June. The survey will be conducted during class time using a purpose built secure online survey tool.
This survey has been running for nearly 20 years and helps schools plan programs and activities to improve your child's engagement with school, their wellbeing and their learning. The survey data also helps the Department of Education understand how to improve student learning.
This survey is voluntary. If you do not want your child to do the survey, please let your child's classroom teacher know.
More information about the administration of the AtoSS will be shared directly to families of students in Year 4, 5 and 6 via SeeSaw.
2026 Foundation Students
If you have a child starting Foundation in 2026 please contact the office so we can supply, you with our information packs. We have our Come and Try days coming up. We look forward to meeting lots of new families.
Duty of Care
Families are reminded that teachers are on duty before school from 8.30am-8.50am and after school from 3.20pm until 3.30pm. Children should not be unattended in the school grounds before or after these times. Thank you for your support and co-operation with this.
Have a lovely weekend.
Kind Regards
Brea
