Sensory Garden Bamboo Planting

Last week, some lucky students had the opportunity to help plant bamboo in the sensory garden as part of a hands-on learning experience.

Richard, the garden’s designer, guided the activity and provided an educational talk on the different elements of the garden. He explained the purpose of the sensory garden, highlighting how the plants were chosen to engage the senses and promote well-being.

Richard also discussed why bamboo was being planted—its calming rustle in the wind and soft texture make it a perfect fit for a sensory environment.

He demonstrated proper planting techniques, ensuring the students not only participated but also understood how to care for the garden moving forward. What a fantastic experience for our students! We can't wait until the sensory garden is completed and ready for our students to enjoy.
