Upper Primary (Years 5-6)
The Upper-Primary department has had a busy fortnight working through our inquiry topic and preparing for the winter fete. The winter fete took place last Friday and it was a huge success. The students enjoyed the hands-on experience of running their stalls and lots of fun and enjoyment participating in the other activities that were on offer. Lots of fun was had by all.
Lower Secondary (Years 7-8)
It was a busy couple of weeks for the 7/8 team as we prepared our businesses for the Winter Fete. This was part of our Inquiry topic World of Work. Students gained valuable insight into what it takes to run a business, including developing their products, practising customer service skills, and learning how to handle money, such as calculating totals and giving the correct change during transactions.
The fete was a success for all our businesses, with 7/8A making candles, 7/8B baking delicious desserts, 7/8C running an op shop, 7/8D selling beautifully painted clay items, and 7/8E making fidgets.
Thank you to all the members of the school community who supported the 7/8 stalls!
Last week, one of our travel training groups even fit in an excursion to Art Vo! This was a fun and engaging experience where students immersed themselves in interactive art while practising important life skills such as waiting our turn and showing respect in the community. This week, some of the other travel training groups are looking forward to an excursion to Melbourne Central, where they will learn how to travel to the city on public transport and how to stay safe and responsible in a busy shopping centre.
