Mrs Anna Nasr
There are a lot of people in our community who are suffering with illness and those who are caring for loved ones who are unwell:
+ Dear Lord,
We pray for people who are receiving treatment in hospitals, who are in pain and discomfort, undergoing surgery, worried for their future. We pray for the elderly and vulnerable people who live in care facilities, that they will experience joy and companionship. We pray for the people who care for sick, frail and vulnerable people, including nurses, doctors, specialists, orderlies, cooks and all who contribute to creating communities of care and compassion. We pray for people in our own community who are unwell at this time.
May we be a society that has respect for life and the dignity of all people. Amen. +
Please join us for Masses throughout this week: Monday 1st Break, Wednesday 8am and Friday 1st Break. All are welcome.
Excerpt from Gospel of Sunday, 1st June. Luke 24:46-53
Now as he blessed them, he withdrew from them and was carried up to heaven. They worshipped him and then went back to Jerusalem full of joy; and they were continually in the Temple praising God.
Sunday was the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. In Luke’s Gospel, we witness the profound moment of Jesus’ ascension into heaven. This passage emphasises the fulfillment of Scripture and the completion of Jesus' earthly mission. After His resurrection, He appears to His disciples, explaining that His suffering and resurrection were necessary for the salvation of humanity. He then commissions them to spread the message of repentance and forgiveness to all nations, empowering them with the Holy Spirit.
The ascension symbolises not only the conclusion of Jesus’ earthly ministry but also the initiation of a new phase in the relationship between God and humanity. It marks the moment when Jesus, having conquered sin and death, returns to the Father, where He reigns with authority. For believers, this event offers hope and assurance that Jesus is alive and actively involved in the world, interceding for us.
+ Heavenly Father,
As we reflect on the ascension of Your Son, Jesus Christ, we are reminded of the incredible love and sacrifice He made for our salvation. We thank You for the fulfillment of Your promises and for the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide and empower us. Help us to embrace our mission to spread the Good News and to live out our faith with courage and conviction. May we always look to Jesus, seated at Your right hand, as our source of strength and hope.

And let us always remember – to pray for one another
Amen.+

The Feast of St Marcellin unites us with Marist communities, schools and ministries around the world who remember the humility, love and faithfulness of the founder whose vision and values remain at the core of our College today.
