Christian Studies

At Donvale students are invited to embark on an adventure of stepping into God’s story and the part they have to play in it. We encourage students that following Jesus isn’t just a set of beliefs to agree with but a whole life revolution, centered around the character and mission of Jesus. We discover the Bible and culture through learning activities that engage head, heart and hands, while also generating opportunities to experience community and participate in spiritual disciplines that can shape and form young people towards spiritual maturity.

Year 8 flows from our understanding of Jesus into practical examples of the life of a disciple. Throughout the year we explore a range of workshops on aspects of everyday living and how we honour God with our bodies and actions. This includes topics such as Family, Friendship, Food, Fitness, Spiritual Disciplines and Sexuality. We encourage biblical frameworks for viewing our choices in these areas and use personal growth challenges to continue to shape lives of dedication, service and compassion.
