Year 12 – Careers Sessions
Year 12 students are currently meeting with Mrs Crawley in one-on-one careers sessions to determine their career pathway plan preferences for 2026. During these meetings we are identifying the student's preferred career and then researching the necessary pre-requisite preparation requirements that are integral to be completed during this year as part of the process. The application process for 2026 commences on the 28th of July, 2025. Students will be supported through this process to ensure they are able to successfully undertake further study, training or work for 2026.
Year 11 – Careers Session
Year 11 students have completed their Career Action Plan – I Decide. Any student who did not complete a Career Action Plan please see Ms Lentowicz in C3s. During this year, students are beginning to decide which pathway they would like to follow and are researching pre-requisite requirements such as subjects, folios, auditions and interviews etc.
Year 10 – Careers Session
During the year 10 Level Up Day, Mrs Crawley presented students with information about the programs available during your child’s final years of study in secondary education (VCE, VCE VM, VET and Headstart) and their relationship to post-secondary pathway/career study options. This session will now assist your child to make an informed choice related to their preferred learning style and career pathway during course counselling in the near future. All students were given a 'Where to Now' guide issued by the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority, that supports the presentation. Please find below a link to a digital copy.

Structured Workplace Learning Recognition – VCE VM - Year 11 and 12 students
Congratulations to the 110 VCE VM students who have arranged Structured Workplace Learning Recognition placements which commence on the 10th of June to 20th June (excluding VET days and the GAT). You should be proud of your efforts to seek these placements, that will provide you with valuable experiences and transferrable skills to add to your resume. We'd like to thank all the employers who have kindly provided these valuable learning opportunities for our students. Congratulations to all involved and we look forward to hearing about your experiences as we check in on your progress.
Year 9 Morrisby Interviews (My Career Insights)
Year 9 Morrisby Interviews will be held in the last week of Term 2 on Monday, 30th June to Friday, 4th July, for students who completed their profile in full. These appointments are a 30-minute session with a trained representative from the Morrisby My Career Insights Program. During the session students will have their results explained to them in detail, be able to explore their pathway options and become familiar with this online resource. Thereafter, students can then use this online site for further career exploration/development. The timing of these interviews will complement course counselling in the near future. It's important students attend their designated appointment promptly. All student appointments will appear on Compass in the near future and will also be communicated via email. If your child cannot make the allotted time, please contact the Careers office. Further, if your child has not yet completed their profile and would like to participate in an interview, please contact the Careers office by Friday, 13th June at the latest, so that an alternative arrangement can be made.
Year 8 – Careers Sessions
Year 8 Careers counselling sessions have now concluded. Students have completed a Career Action Plan – I Explore in a class setting with Mrs Duhau. They have developed a profile of themselves, exploring their interests, values and skills. Students have investigated learning styles and identified what makes learning easier for them. The students have reflected on their Year 7 Career Action Plan identifying last year’s achievements. Thereafter, each child has set new goals and a plan for year 8 and begun to identify careers related to their interests and skills using a range of Career resources. VET Business & Community Services at Berwick College
The students undertaking the Certificate III in Business (first or second year) and the Certificate II in Community Services (first or second year) have been working hard lately participating in a range 'real world' learning activities to complement a number of their theory units/assessments related to sustainability, marketing and the impact of technology in the workplace. The most recent experience was a visit to the Melbourne Skydeck where the students were able to hear about how the Skydeck has become a sustainable tourism accredited business, examine the marketing process of the business and how it attracts a range of diverse customers as well as investigate the use of digital technologies in place to support business operations, including a 6D Voyager experience of Melbourne/Victoria to attract overseas visitors. It was a wonderful day.
Mrs Crawley.
