Debutante Ball
The year 11 Presentation Ball was a success! It was wonderful to see our students enjoying themselves and celebrating all their hard work. A huge thank you goes out to the families, friends, Rotary Club, and our leadership team who helped make the night so special. Your support and contributions do not go unnoticed.
Athletics Carnival
Well done to all year 11 students for your enthusiastic participation in the recent Athletics Carnival. The level of engagement and sense of community displayed was outstanding. Whether competing, cheering on friends, or helping on the day, you all contributed to a fantastic school event. We hope you all look forward to the year 12 colour run next year!
Semester Exams
A reminder to all year 11 students that exams will be held from 12th to 19th June. During this period, year 11 students are not expected to attend regular classes but are required to attend all scheduled exams. Please note that students completing a VET subject must continue attending those classes as normal during exam week.
Level Up Day – A Valuable Experience
Our recent Level Up Day proved to be a worthwhile experience for year 11 students. The day focused on building key academic and personal skills, including student voice, time management, and mnemonics for memory retention. Students engaged positively with the sessions with many choosing to develop designs for the year 12 jacket.
Vocational Major (VCE-VM)
The year 11 VM Literacy students have successfully completed a dynamic unit focused on social justice and expression through diverse text types. They critically engaged with the film 'The Hate U Give', exploring themes of police brutality and the impact of systemic injustice on individuals and communities. Through the analysis of song lyrics, they uncovered powerful societal messages embedded in music, deepening their understanding of voice and resistance. The students also explored the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur, examining how his music and activism highlighted the struggles faced by marginalized communities and connected to broader social justice movements. Additionally, they worked with a range of texts including poems, personal journals, persuasive pieces, letters, and non-fiction, each offering unique insights into lived experiences and social issues. Throughout the unit, students were challenged to question the world around them, reflect on their own perspectives, and raise awareness for the issues that matter most in their communities.
Thank You
As a Year 11 Team we wanted to take the time to thank the year level for their continued sense of community and engagement in school life this term. We look forward to continuing to bring this energy into the end of semester.
