VCE REVISION LECTURES

SWOT Week is a not-for-profit VCE revision program where high-achieving past graduates provide quality VCE revision to high school students. It is a valuable opportunity for students to receive guidance from the state’s top VCE graduates. 

 

The Key Dates for students are as follows:

  • Registrations Open: 28th August
  • Registrations Close: 22nd September
  • SWOT Week: 25th September - 29th September

Details are as follows: Date: 25th of September - 29th of September  (school holidays)

 

Time: The timetable will be provided when registration opens on the 28th of August

 

Location: The University of Melbourne, Parkville Campus. The location of the specific building will be provided closer to the event. Over the entire week, different subjects will be running comprehensive 90–120-minute workshops based on the VCAA Unit 3 curriculum. 

 

Subjects offered at Units 3/4: Biology, Chemistry, English, Further Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Physics, Psychology, Specialist Mathematics, Legal Studies, Chinese, Italian, German and Japanese.

On Thursday 3rd August, Tarneit Senior College hosted a Trades Trailer from MAS Apprenticeships. 

 

Students had an opportunity to learn what apprenticeships involved and took part in a number of hands-on activities related to carpentry and plumbing. 

All students enjoyed the experience as can be seen by the photos below.

I think the most fun part about the trailers and tradings activity was when I learned a lot of information and important things about jobs and tradings and the things we got to do.

 

Especially when we got to hammer nails in wood! It felt like a carnival game that was not rigged!

 

I’d definitely recommend this to someone looking for more information about jobs and trade.

2024 Subject Selections

 

Dear parents/guardians, 

 

All current Year 10 students should have now made their subject selections for 2024. Students would have received an emailed copy of their subject choices when they submitted their selections.

 

All current Year 11 students must submit their 2024 subjects by Friday 1st September. Students have been able to make appointments with a member of the Careers & Pathways team via our school Careers website (https://tarneitsccareers.com.au/) to discuss their options and future pathways.
