Forest School

Making our own rope and tyre swings has been a very popular pastime over the last week! We’ve had a lot of fun tying knots and then trying to figure out how to untangle them at the end of the sessions!

The kids are very grateful to Mr Forrest for organising a fresh delivery of sand, the creations have been even more beautiful than usual.

Another exciting addition to Middle Gully has been the arrival of the pullets that are settling into their new home after hatching in Barry’s Grade 1/2 classroom. We are looking forward to getting involved in their care (and cuddles!).

We love playing with mud. Making it, forming it, moulding it, moving it, exploring it and generally loving it! I apologise if your child is one that particularly loves it and comes home covered, I assure you that a lot of learning is occurring.

On the theme of mud, when extra adults are available to support the program, we have been enjoying exploring the dam. The mud there is particularly delicious (and good for the skin!) and we have been observing many different habitats. Hopefully we’ll catch a tadpole soon! If you can attend a session or two, please send me an email on: Sarah.Kline@education.vic.gov.au.

If the weather holds, I’m excited about making damper with the Grade 3/4s and cooking it on the fire! Parent helpers would be very appreciated!

Cheers,

Sarah.
