Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

This week has presented challenges for all of us—students, staff, and members of our community alike. In the face of adversity, I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to everyone for coming together and demonstrating strength and support for one another in difficult times.

Today we gathered to remember and honour Jessika Halfpenny through a specially organised Memorial Day. It was a heartfelt tribute, reflecting our deep admiration for her strength, courage and resilience Jessika demonstrated each and every day. Our support for Jessika's friends and family shone brightly during this beautiful Memorial Day. I extend my appreciation to Wayne and Emma Halfpenny who were in attendance to witness the beautiful ceremony held during the day.

Our students decorated themselves in some of Jessika's favourite colours, creating a vibrant atmosphere in a day of remembrance. Face painting and a sausage sizzle added a joyful touch to our day, all while raising funds for the Debra Foundation. I'm am extremely grateful for the collective generosity made a significant contribution to this important charity.

Congratulations to all the students who proudly represented Red Cliffs Secondary College at the interschool Athletics competition this week! A special mention goes to Isabell Alchin, who not only competed well but also broke the record in the 200m sprint. We applaud the dedication and hard work of all students, and congratulate them for their outstanding achievements.

As we approach the final week of this term, please note that all students will finish the term on Thursday, September 14th at 3:15pm. We're concluding the term on a positive note with RUOK Day, where casual dress in footy colours will be the theme, along with a host of activities throughout the day. I would like to thank the Wellbeing team and our SRC members for organising this special day to finish off Term 3.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and looking forward to finishing next term with continued positivity and success.

Kind regards,

Brad Vallance
