What's happening...

Have your say – FOCUS GROUPS for young people - $20 gift card for attending!

Banyule Youth Services want to ensure we get regular feedback on young people about topics that are relevant to them so that we can provide them with the sorts of supports and information that is most useful.

We have two upcoming opportunities for young people to join us for a one-hour focus group so that they can have their say on what they think about the following two topics:

  • Social Media – sharing ideas and feedback on how young people use social media and how our youth service can connect with young people online
  • Vapes – a non-judgemental and safe space for young people to talk about vaping and give advice to our team about what sorts of information young people would like to learn about vapes

All attendees will receive a $20 gift card for their time.  Light refreshments will also be provided.

Student Representative Council (SRC) Leadership Event for schools in Banyule

Young people at our 2023 Banyule Youth Summit requested that Banyule Youth Services host a leadership and development event for SRC representatives from local schools.  In response to this we have organised a FREE full day event in October and are inviting local schools to submit their interest in participating.  Each school can have a total of 8 SRC members attend on the day.  We will have a range of leadership activities, focused on making the most out of their roles in the SRC committees and how to contribute to positive change within their school environments.  School Staff are welcomed to join their students and will have a space available for them to use if they wish to work on their laptops while the students are doing the training.

Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided for both students and school Staff who attend.
