Message from the Principal

St Peter’s School - an empowered faith community to enrich the world.

Welcome to Week 10 of Term 1

I can't believe we have completed Term 1! Ten weeks of learning have gone by in a flash! When I walk around the school I can see the learning that has taken place- walking safely around the school and the classroom, listening respectfully and following instructions. Our Positive Behaviour for Learning lessons are having an impact. Explicit phonics instruction is happening,  particularly in our junior classrooms with daily review an important component. I also see daily review happening in our Maths lessons, where the underpinning concepts of counting and place value are given a strong focus and much practice. In Religious Education, some Year 3 students have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and all students have been immersed in the story of Holy week, culminating in our liturgy on Wednesday. I thank all students for their commitment to their own learning and to our amazing staff who support them all and ensure everyone is working to be the best version of themselves. I wish everyone a restful and peaceful holiday- one where the batteries can be recharged, where enjoyment can be found in the little things like taking a walk along the beach, having a laugh with friends and family and just having time to be.

Annual Student v Staff Basketball

We held our annual basketball game on Thursday. Congratulations to the Year 5 /6 students who were triumphant on the day.

Holy Week

This year, Holy week happens in the second week of the school holidays, beginning with Palm Sunday on Sunday 13 April and culminating on Easter Sunday on 20 April.

We retold these events as a school during a moving liturgy on Wednesday.

Lord Jesus Christ, Your passion and death is the sacrifice that unites heaven and earth and brings all people closer to you. May we who have reflected on your life and death follow in your footsteps so that we may share in your glory in heaven, where you live and reign with the Holy Spirit, One God, for ever and ever Amen.

School Photos

Our annual school photos will be taken on Tuesday 29 April (Week 2). Envelopes were sent home with each student on Thursday. Please follow the instructions on the envelope. If you would like a family photo taken, envelopes are available in the office.

It is important that all students are in correct uniform from the beginning of Term 2.
