Wodonga's rising star Jackson Rice gears up for breakout year in motorsport
👓 1.5 minute read
Wodonga’s own Jackson Rice is set to take the motorsport world by storm in 2025, with experts across the industry dubbing him the ‘next big thing.’ Supported by FN Bonnici & Associates for the past three years, Jackson has proven himself as a remarkable talent both on and off the track.
Agency Principal William Bonnici first met Jackson through his family while assisting them with property transactions. Recognising his exceptional drive and potential, William has worked closely with Jackson’s marketing team to secure additional sponsorships, a crucial component in motorsport where each race can cost up to $50,000.
‘To be frank, my horsepower passion usually has four legs, but supporting Jackson has been an incredible journey,’ William said.
‘We’re proud to see our brand featured on his race car as he continues to achieve new heights.’
Jackson Rice’s journey from apprentice mechanic to podium finishes in the TA2/Trans Am National Series is nothing short of inspiring. A hands-on talent hailing from Albury-Wodonga—the hometown of Bathurst 1000 champion David Reynolds—Jackson not only prepares his own race cars but also manages customer vehicles across various series, including TA2, Trans Am, Supercars, and international GT cars.
In 2024, Jackson made waves by competing in the National Trans Am Series, earning multiple podium finishes and being recognised as the ‘Rookie Hard Charger of the Year.’ He also made a one-off appearance in the Dunlop Super2 Series at the iconic Repco Bathurst 1000 with Matt Chahda Motorsport. Now, Jackson is focused on securing his maiden championship while transitioning to compete full-time in Dunlop Super2.
With aspirations to compete internationally and interest from major franchises like JAX Tyres & Auto, who signed him as a brand ambassador in 2023, Jackson’s future looks bright. Locally, he aims to make his mark in the Repco Supercars Championship as the series seeks fresh talent.
As Wodonga cheers on its rising star, 2025 promises to be a defining year for Jackson Rice—a young driver whose passion and determination continue to inspire fans and sponsors alike.
