Assessment and Reporting

STUDENT DIGITAL PORTFOLIOS
Student learning samples will be shared with families across the year via Seesaw. Parents/carers are encouraged to check Seesaw on a regular basis to view annotated portfolio samples illustrating your child’s learning and achievement. Teachers will report progressively on achievement and progress by uploading portfolio samples in the following areas each term:
- English - Reading and Viewing
- English - Writing
- Mathematics - Number and Algebra
- Mathematics (Applied Mathematics) - Measurement and Geometry OR Statistics and Probability
Student samples showing learning in Inquiry will also be uploaded once a term but these will not be annotated. Demonstrated student speaking and listening skills will be highlighted through one of the other annotated portfolio samples each term.
Please be aware that learning samples may not be polished or ‘end of unit’ pieces. Portfolio samples are intended to provide a realistic ‘snapshot’ in time of your child’s achievement and learning progress.
Specialist teachers will update a learning snapshot for all students once a semester in their respective areas. (Physical Education, Visual Art, Performing Arts, Auslan and STEM)
SEMESTER REPORTS
At the end of Terms Two and Four, parents will be able to access their child’s academic results on their Semester report, via Compass. In 2025, Semester 1 reports will be released to parents and carers on Wednesday July 2nd. Classroom teacher/s will write a general comment about your child as a learner and provide the progression points (dots), indicating your child’s achievement in areas of the Victorian Curriculum taught during Semester 1.
