Breakfast Club

Hello DCS Community, we hope you have a lovely break during the school holidays.

Here at DCS we love to offer a nutritious breakfast to our students on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is available to students in all year levels and served from the Jiloa Cafe between 8:10 - 8:25am each Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

As we get back into the first week of Term Two, we  will be launching our Breakfast Club this Friday 2nd May.

We can’t wait to see all our students back for Breakfast Club!

Mother's Day Expo

Every year DCS Community runs an amazing Mother’s Day Stall which provides the opportunity for students to purchase a small gift for their Mum or loved one.

This year, in addition to our usual Mother’s Day Stall, we decided to invite any DCS families who would be interested in having a market stall to sell their own items, and we had a wonderful response!

Our Mother’s Day Expo will include stalls selling an amazing selection of beautiful goods, including flowers, earrings, handmade cookies, and handmade soap!

The Mother’s Day Expo will be held Friday 9th May, outside the Jiloa Centre. All items will be priced under $10.00, with the exception of a few larger items priced a little more.

Please note: cash sales only available.

Students in Kinder Copas will be able to purchase on Thursday 8th May.

Volunteers Wanted - Secondary Cross Country

DCS Community would love to bless our Secondary students with a free sausage sizzle as a treat during the Cross Country on Tuesday 13th May.   To make this event run smoothly we are after two or three amazing parents to organise the BBQ and cook the sausages.

If you are free between 12.30pm-2.00pm on Tuesday 13th May, and would love to help, please contact Jasmin by email at thompsonj@dcs.tas.edu.au or via Facebook.

This will be a great community event where we encourage all parents to come along and cheer on our students and have lunch on us!

We thank you in advance for being a part of this great blessing.

DCS Community Informal Catch up

DCS Community loves to meet together once a term to discuss all things community focused in our DCS Community meetings.

Our next DCS Community Meeting is scheduled for 9:00am Wednesday 14th May, however, this time round we would like to have a pause on our formal community meeting and instead gather for an informal Community Catch-up. Lets still get together and celebrate all the events we have had so far and discuss some ideas going forward.

All DCS parents and grandparents are invited to come along Wednesday 14th May for a coffee and a catch-up in Jiloa at 9am straight after Assembly.

It will be a blessing to have you there!

National Volunteer Week

At DCS we love and appreciate the many, many community members who volunteer there time at our school. DCS Community would love to celebrate all of our amazing volunteers during on National Volunteer week.

National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering and will be next held on 19-25 May 2025.

This special event highlights the important role of volunteers in our community.

Volunteering creates lasting relationships that enrich lives and strengthens the school body.

Join us on Friday 23rd May at 9am for a special morning tea celebrating our DCS volunteers.
