What's Happening In Secondary

Welcome to Term 2

It’s great to be back and we are excited for a term full of community connection, meaningful experiences, and rigorous classroom learning across DCS Secondary.

This term, students will have the opportunity to engage in a range of activities, including:

• Big Kids Table – building authentic connections with each other and our community.

• Next Gen GLS – equipping students with leadership skills for today and tomorrow.

• Schools Futsal Competition – where students will represent DCS in teamwork and sportsmanship.

• Science and Engineering Challenge – fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration.

• Excursions to Agfest – offering real-world learning about agriculture, innovation, and sustainability.

Last term finished with our Secondary Athletics Carnival at Penguin’s Dial Range. We had a fantastic day – the vibe was fun, the competition was fierce and the music was loud! We ended the day with relays and the 1500m, which was a highlight, as nearly every student ran, walked, or even danced their way around the track.

We also celebrated the successful launch of our Year 9 Beyond Program, where students began building strong relationships and exploring new skills beyond the classroom. If you would like a glimpse into what this exciting program looks like, you can view the video below.

We are looking forward to another wonderful term of learning, growth, and connection!

Volunteers Wanted - Secondary Cross Country

DCS Community would love to bless our Secondary students with a free sausage sizzle as a treat during the Cross Country on Tuesday 13th May.   To make this event run smoothly we are after two or three amazing parents to organise the BBQ and cook the sausages.

This will be a great community event where we encourage all parents to come along and cheer on our students and have lunch on us!
