From the Deputy Principal

Learning, learning, everywhere!

Experiential learning at GSG is alive and well and it's so true, learning happens everywhere!  It's one of the core strengths of our program at GSG; students experience the best of learning both inside and outside the classroom.  Late last week I overheard a conversation between a parent and their child who said, 'I've been on so many camps, I feel like I've hardly been home, and it's been so much fun!'  and other students who have shared their excitement with me and shared how much they have learned whilst participating in Outdoor Education or SCUBA diving or on night-time hunts for possums for Science Week in the Primary School or competing in the Da Vinci Decathlon.

Take this one step further, and on campus, GSG has been abuzz this week with celebrations of students' talents in so many forms.  Last night, we shared in the joy of the VET Music Show highlighting the musical gifts of our Year Eleven and Twelve VET Music students led by Mr Joe Fowler, and today we enjoyed a lunchtime concert.  Our Geography students have been out to Waychinicup and our Year Sevens have been to Middleton Beach.  Over the weekend, students will venture to Perth to get a taste for University life and we will celebrate the end of term with a Whole School Cross Country event, for which we would love you to join us.  All of these moments are designed to ignite our students' passions, to help them find their purpose and connect with their learning.

As we approach the school holidays, remember to take some time to reflect on what has been a busy and fulfilling term of learning and fun!
