Kitchen Garden

To honour ANZAC Day our kitchen is focusing on aussie favourites this fortnight. The children were very happy to make two desserts, pavlova and ANZAC biscuits, we all needed to have our pumpkin soup and damper before though.

Over the holidays our garden had some new installments: a shed to keep all things garden in and a poly tunnel for propagating seeds. We have lots of garden beds for the wider school to access and make their own,  with the students outside of the kitchen garden program. We look forward to seeing what the level ⅚ students come up with, I hear chilies may be the crop of choice.

Some of our families have jumped on board to be the Billanook Chicken Crew and we anticipate having our chicks in very soon. If you would like to join this group of families to help look after the chickens just send me an email and I will forward your details onto the chicken crew.

Working with children checks: Our volunteers are much needed and welcomed however we do need all of our visitors to have a working with children check, provided to the office before they come onsite to help with the students for cooking or gardening. Thanks and the link below takes you to the application page

Looking forward to another busy term of making and baking!
