Student Support

Pip, Tyrone and Leah

Such a lot has happened this week with Year 7’s coming back from camp and NAPLAN testing. Even with a lot happening, we celebrated the International Day of Happiness on Thursday, as well as Cultural Diversity and Neurodiversity all week.

The theme for the International Day of Happiness is “Happier Together” and the purpose for Neurodiversity Week is to celebrate the many strengths and abilities that neurodiverse minds have. Cultural Diversity Week encourages the celebration of Victoria's powerful and diverse multicultural communities. When we look at all of these events, we can see our strength as a community is in our diversity.

It takes people with all sorts of abilities, strengths, skills and talents to make our communities, and our school, work the way they do. If we have a look at our teachers, and school staff, it takes many people to make the school work. A community, be it a school or the town we are a part of, is not just one person or a small team of people, it’s us. All of us.

Being all of us. We all have strengths, abilities and talents that are different and we use them differently. So, if you have a challenge or a problem, say for example you are not sure how to solve a Maths problem, who can you ask for help? Can you ask a fellow classmate, can you ask your teacher, is there a family member that can help explain how to solve the problem? The solution is there within us - a community working together.
