CREATIVE ARTS - CHOIR

The St Aidan’s Choir has been busy preparing for upcoming performances for Maroubra’s Anzac Dawn Service, Mothers’ Day Breakfast and SCS Eisteddfod. Thanks to every choir member for your dedication. You make a beautiful sound together!

Our dedicated Choir teacher Mrs Shaw recently attended a Choir workshop with one of the Australian Girls Choir conductors, Laura Knowling. Mrs Shaw learnt a lot and came away with some new activities that she is looking forward to introducing to the choir sessions.

VISUAL ARTS

The Art Room at St Aidan’s is a colourful and creative place to be. The students have a great attitude and seem to love creating their art pieces.

This term each class has worked on creating portraits. Early next term there will be a St Aidan's Young Archies.  Here is a preview of some of the portraits the students have worked on.

STAGE THREE PUBLIC SPEAKING WORKSHOP

On Thursday 10 April, Stage Three participated in a zoom meeting with OLSH students. They talked to us about how we can improve our public speaking skills with a focus on the importance of manner, matter and method. We participated in some interactive activities that helped us learn more about public speaking. Stage Three are very thankful to the OLSH students that led the meeting.

YEAR 1 VISIT TO KILDARE COURT

On Tuesday 8 April, Year 1 students visited the residents at Kildare Court. The students went on an egg hunt in the courtyard, enjoyed a delicious chocolate egg and beautifully sang an Easter song for the residents.

CHESS

Students from St Aidan's recently represented the school in a Chess Competition and

The competition was a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase their abilities and engage in friendly rivalry with peers from other schools. We are very proud of their achievements. Thank you to Mr McGrath for organising this fun event.

We have had a fantastic first term this year and I hope you all have a wonderful Easter break!

Warm regards,
