Confirmation

This weekend, we had the pleasure of witnessing Confirmation at St Bernard's Parish Church in Denman and at St Anne’s, Merriwa. Confirmation, as a sacrament, deepens the child’s relationship with God, and it was initially through Baptism that parents first initiated the child into the Catholic Church. Once confirmed, the child has the opportunity to strengthen their commitment to their faith.

Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism and marks the child's spiritual growth. Through Confirmation, individuals are fully initiated into the Catholic Church. The child consciously affirms their journey in the presence of their sponsor, family, and the congregation.

Congratulations to the children, their families and the teachers who spent weeks preparing them for the ceremony. It was a joyful celebration of faith and a powerful reminder of God’s enduring presence in the community.

BYOD Update – Change of Preferred Supplier

This week, we decided to change our preferred supplier for the BYOD program. We have worked successfully with ACORP for many years, but they can no longer offer interest-free payment plans or lay-by. We deemed that these finance options were vital for our families, and after researching the suppliers used by other schools in the diocese, we have changed to LWT (Learning with Technologies). They will still sell the same HP devices and accessories on a new portal linked to our school website. The devices will still come with the 3-year warranty, ADP insurance and onsite warranty repair from the local HP repairer.

LWT will be on site for our Year 7 2025 Orientation on Friday to demonstrate the devices to the new parents. In the next few days, more information will be sent out via Compass.

Year 12 Graduation Ceremony

Last Friday night, we celebrated the Year 12 Graduation dinner and dance in the school hall. A huge thank you to Tim O’Toole for his leadership in pulling this together and his band of parent helpers, especially Andrea Mulholland.

It was such a fitting way to celebrate the conclusion of 13 years of Catholic education. We are so privileged to watch these young students grow into the men and women who graduated last Friday night.

Many of the students had already gained early entry into university or accepted apprenticeships, so the HSC results are, for many, just a formality. Regardless, we wish them all every happiness and success in the future, wherever their career path should take them.
