HEALTHY LIVING
Lake Wendouree excursion- Connecting with nature influences our Mental Health in a good way. Year 1 /2G were photographed as they learned about the
Indigenous perspective of connecting with nature
Today we met Mikaela at the lake. Mikaela is a Wathaurong woman who very kindly met us to teach us about how indigenous people are so closely connected with nature.
Mikaela told us stories that she learned from her mother and grandfather about what it was like in Ballarat before European people arrived.
SPORT Report
Fast Athletics Program
This term a team of senior students signed up to participate in the first ever after school Fast Athletics program. Each week our St Pats students competed in 4 track and field events along side another
Ballarat school. They received some coaching along the way and strived to improve their personal best each week.
Well done to all the athletes that competed over the 8 weeks. Many thanks to the parents that supported the program and helped lead the team each week.
Golf
11 of our children played golf at the Ballarat and districts day. Payton won the girls and Felix and her qualified to play at the Greater Western Day. Payton came 3rd on the day which is a great effort.
Pet Safety Program - Juniors
On Wednesday, the Junior students had an incursion with Responsible Pet Ownership Education Program. We got to meet Biggy the dog.
We learned that if we see a scared dog, we should walk quietly pass it and look away. If we see an angry dog, we stop, do not move and look down. Happy dogs wave their tail and this means it is okay for us to ask their owner to say hello to them.
Someone caused a little excitement at school yesterday!!
Story Time
We would like to thank Kim Morrison for running Story Time once again this year!
The time and effort that you put in to run the program is truly appreciated.
Today was the last Story Time for 2024, we look forward to seeing our little people at
the carols tonight!
