Year 9 & 10 Tech Workshop at the CBA

After winning a national careers competition earlier this year, our year 9 & 10s recently headed down to Melbourne to the Commonwealth Bank tech headquarters to attend an AI workshop. Students participated in 3 interactive workshops for the day using various types of AI, including creating a song from scratch, online interpretive drawing and face swapping technology with their favourite innovator. 

It was a great opportunity to learn more about using AI in a variety of ways, and the Q&A panel with their team of experts opened up the students’ eyes to the types of careers and pathways in this industry. Some of the students’ comments included: 

• There are heaps of jobs and more jobs to come in the future involving tech and AI
• Got to see different ways that ai can be used
• That ai goes on in the background of a lot of things you don’t realise

SCHOLARSHIPS

There are a range of Department of Education scholarships available to students currently enrolled in Year 4 to 11 in 2024 and students enrolled in Year 12 in 2024 who plan on undertaking tertiary studies in 2025.
