Semester Two student reports will be sent out to parents at the end of Week Nine, Friday 13th December, via the school based web system COMPASS. Parents of Year Six students are reminded to print and save a copy of their child’s report before the end of the year as their profile data is not transferred to their high school.
Parents, this is a special time for you to praise the efforts of your child for the school year. The level of effort a child puts into their work is important to acknowledge in addition to the level of performance grade awarded. Praise this where appropriate. Comparative tables for grades Year 1 - Year 6 will be available from the office from Friday 13th December.
Parents wishing to have an interview in regards to their child’s report are asked to please contact their child’s class teacher via email to organise a suitable time.
It was wonderful to see so many of our students sharing their knowledge, research, and creativity at our school's recent Learning Symposium. The showcase of students' engagement in learning across the curriculum not only highlighted the wealth of talent within our school but also demonstrated the passion and commitment within our school community.
I would like to acknowledge and congratulate all of our students for their hard work and dedication in preparing their presentations.Their enthusiasm and display of talent made the Symposium a vibrant showcase of academic achievement and personal growth at Our Lady of Fatima.
OLF art students have been creating beautiful artwork, and a group of students has had their work selected to be printed as Christmas Cards. These cards will be sold at the OLF Christmas Concert next Thursday, 28th November 5.00 - 7:00pm
Limited stock only - Packs of 8 cards for $15.00 (cash only).
Over the last few weeks, we have been talking to the students about respect - for one another and for property. We have recently bought new playground seating and some play equipment that unfortunately has been treated poorly and damaged in some parts. At times we also see students throwing and kicking their lunch boxes and drink bottles across the playground as well as leaving food scraps and empty packets to litter the playground.
We would really like to see an improvement in this and ask that you speak to your children about looking after school property and their things.
Students are reminded to wear their school hats daily, especially with the warmer weather we are experiencing. Our school policy is ‘no hat, no play’ and no participating in a sports lesson. Correct sports socks are also to be worn with black or white sports shoes.
With the many events that occur during the weeks leading up to the end of the year, it is important that safety rules are followed especially when using carlines.
Please review the following important safety rules when using the carline facility:
*DO NOT open car boots this is a safety hazard. Please have your child’s/children’s bags in the vehicle.
*Please remind your child/children not to walk between cars after exiting the car and to use the pedestrian crossing at all times. Please note that walking between cars is extremely dangerous.
*Display the family name in large, clear letters on the dashboard for easy identification at pick-up.
*For ease of traffic flow please drive down to the second-speed hump when directed.
*Do not stop over the pedestrian crossing.
*Parents are asked not to park in the school administration car park for drop off or the surrounding business car parks.
Parents, please be reminded that Our Lady of Fatima is a nut-free school with many students having a variety of allergies. We recommended that lolly bags are not sent to school for birthdays. This also includes candy canes as we enter the season of Advent.
