Middle Learning News

Hi Everyone
Writing
This fortnight we have been busy planning and writing our own stories. Students developed a personalised editing process that included reading their work out loud, searching for correct capitalisation, full stops and spelling. Students had a go using the steps to improve their writing. They also began illustrating the front cover of their narrative.
Reading with F/1’s
We loved spending some time with the F/1’s!
Multiplication and Division
This week we have learnt that when we need to add the same number again and again, we can use multiplication. To add to this, we have connected that when we need to subtract the same number over again, we can use division. Students have worked with real life problems associated with division and multiplication to help connect these concepts to daily life.
Olympics
This fortnight we have launched our own 2/3 Olympics. Students picked four countries to be in the games. France, Germany, Australia and Turkey. So far, students have participated in relays, noughts and crosses, a hanging competition and a strut-a-thon! It’s been a fun team building.
Mary Mackillop Feast Day
A beautiful celebration with our St. Mary’s Rushworth friends.
I congratulate all our readers and students who volunteered to participate in a job during our Mass. All students showed a high level of reference and respect. Everyone tried their best to participate in responses and sing along to the hymns. Well done everybody.
Students participated in some activities including old fashion games, stained glass window, collaborative portrait, walk and sketch of Mary Mackillop.
Special Visitors
Last Friday we welcomed Eleanor and Ava into our classroom! Students loved the cuddles and watching their interactions!
Have a beautiful weekend everyone!
